Contact Procedures
Identification of students with communication concerns may originate from the school staff, parents/guardians, the student or outside agencies.
If there are concerns around a student’s speech-language development, please contact the following:
- Contact the school-based Support Teacher/team
- Contact the Classroom Teacher
- Contact the school’s Speech-Language Pathologist
After consultation with the school team and Speech-Language Pathologist occurs, an informal screen may take place to identify any areas of need. If needs for direct or indirect services are indicated, the school-based team can complete a formal Learning Services Referral signed by the Support Teacher, Principal, Classroom Teacher, and parents.
A hearing screening or assessment is recommended prior to intervention.
