Provincial Resource Programs

  • POPARD: Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders provides consultation, training and support services to all public and independent schools across the province of British Columbia with a primary focus on increasing the capacity of school district staff to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • POPFASD: Provincial Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
  • PIOP: Inclusion Outreach assists school teams and families in developing meaningful and functional programs for B.C. students with severe cognitive and multiple physical disabilities within K-12 inclusive schools.
  • POPDHH: The Provincial Outreach Program: Deaf and Hard of Hearing collaborates with school districts in meeting the needs of all deaf and hard of hearing learners.
  • POPDB: The Provincial Outreach Program for Students with Deafblindness provides support to BC school teams working with K-12 students with deafblindness.
  • PRCVI: The Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired is charged with providing learning resources, leadership, information, training, and consultation to support school districts’ and independent schools’ goal of ensuring equitable access and enhanced educational opportunities for students with visual impairments, including those with additional exceptionalities.
  • PRP-AO: Auditory Outreach – in collaboration with provincial centres, local audiologists and other service providers – assists public and independent schools throughout the province to address the needs of school-aged students with hearing loss.
  • POPEY:  Provincial Outreach Program for the Early Years
  • SET-BC: Special Education Technology BC provides assistive technologies for students with complex needs.
  • BC CEC: The BC Council for Exceptional Children is dedicated to advocating and improving education for students with identified learning challenges.
  • BC CAISE: The BC Council of Administrators of Inclusive Support In Education is a professional association of dedicated school and district administrators passionately committed to celebrating and supporting student diversity in every classroom and school community.

  • CAST is a multifaceted organization with a singular ambition: Bust the barriers to learning that millions of people experience every day. We do this by helping educators and organizations apply insights from the learning sciences and leading-edge practices to educational design and implementation.
  • CASEL: Advancing Social Emotional Learning. Provides a framework outlining the fundamentals of evidence based social emotional learning (SEL) .
  • PBIS World is a collection of resources for supporting students.  Be sure to look at their many resources for supporting Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3, as well as their supporting behaviours and data collection sections.
